Thank you again for speaking with me so that I could complete this investigation.
This letter serves as written notification that I found Jerry Bustamante in violation of the Student Conduct Code for sexual misconduct. The sanctions that I imposed for Jerry for this violation include:
- During Winter Quarter 2015, you are not allowed to be in any classes that the complainant is in. You will need to work with MPA Director Cheryl Simrell King and the faculty to make academic arrangements.
- You are on probation the next two quarters that you are in attendance. If you violate the separation order or the student conduct code again additional sanctions, including a suspension from the college,
will likely result.
- You must abide by the separation order put in place on October 21, 2014. During Spring Quarter 2015 and subsequent quarters the faculty will manage specific seating in the classroom if you are in
class with the complainant.

You must complete at least
four hours of workshops that is pre-approved by this office to increase your knowledge and skills in communication, conflict resolution, consent, or healthy relationship. Appropriate classes would include trainings presented by WCSAP (Washington Coalition
of Sexual Assault Programs at www.wcsap.org) or non-violent communication or consent workshops on campus. You must provide documentation of completion. This must be completed no later than February 1,
2015.

You are
encouraged but not required to engage in counseling in order to increase your self-awareness about your impact on others.
F.
You must
write a paper two pages in length regarding your learning from the above sanctions. This sanction is an educational sanction that expects students to think critically, engage in self-exploration and growth through self-analysis. This paper cannot be
started until you have completed the workshop(s) and evaluation stated above and will be shared with the complainant if she chooses. This must be completed no later than February 23, 2015.
As the person impacted by this decision, you have the right to appeal my decision. If you wish to appeal, you have 20 days to request an appeal in writing to the Vice President for Student Affairs, Wendy Endress.
