Rachel: a few days after the
deadline
1st- When
application form comes in (regardless of other materials) Cass checks to see if
there are holds
2nd – Rachel
enters app info into a computer, looks to see if there are any materials in
transcript drawer, and then she makes a paper file
3rd-
Rachel sends a file complete or incomplete letter to
applicant
4th – After
15th, Rachel will separate completed by 15th and completed
after 15th. This will take 2 days, but tell students 1
week
I will train admit committee on file
layout. Martha has ability to consider an application complete even if
it’s not. When files are collated, Martha & I should go in and look at
files to determine which incomplete files should be considered with the complete
files (because we’ve approved a late document, etc). This is called the
“making incomplete files complete” after collation
There are 3 types of apps that get
collated
Complete by
15th
Complete after
15th
Still
incomplete
MPA:
Randee makes a spreadsheet of all
applicants and admit committee people rank independently. Put rankings
from both readers on spreadsheet; director comes in if there is a disagreement
on an applicant.
Categories (all get
letters):
Admit 1 – definitely admit (yes,
yes)
Admit 2 – hang on to until we see
all the applicants
Waitlist -- could be admit 2
or deny depending on comparisons
Deny
Incomplete – do we have an
incomplete letter we send out??
Randoms who they’ve approved to have
late stuff turned in
Round 1 – admit
committee
Send out admit 1 letters after round
1
Round 2 – randee joins and they look
at any that anyone had disagreements about
Send out admit 2, waitlist, deny,
incomplete and random letters after round 2.
We need to create an MES admissions
process flow chart!
